Development of PV tied UPQC using PSO based PI tuning Controller based on SOI-QSG PLL
Abstract
This paper motivates the utilization of Particle Swarm Optimization based PI controller for PV-UPQC controller to reach the desired performance level. Various gird distortion related to current and voltages that appear in the distribution systems are required to be eliminated by the PV-UPQC. Therefore controller utilized by PV-UPQC system should be capable enough to mitigate the distortions. Conventional PI controllers have fixed control gain irrespective of the distortion level. Therefore PSO based PI controller is utilized in this paper to provide perfect gain for the PV-UPQC controller. PSO based VPI controller has been applied the shunt Active power filter of PV-UPQC. PSO based resonant controller has been developed for series filter of the PV-UPQC. To achieve satisfactory synchronization an advanced PLL technique has been utilized. SOI-QSG PLL provides more reliable input signal and synchronization to the controller of the system leads to enhancement of performance. The system has been developed in the Simulink environment and simulation results are analyzed. An experimental prototype has been developed and verified for the discussed system.
