Poonpong Boonbrahm, Charlee Kaewrat, Salin Boonbrahm

Abstract

This study aims at using new technology, interactive augmented reality (AR), to establish collaborative learning. Interactive augmented reality means that virtual objects can be interacted and displayed in real world which made them easy to understand or easy to work with. In this paper, we have developed a system to support collaborative work in which users can be in different locations and use interactive augmented reality technology to help them doing collaborative work which in this case is completing a 3D jigsaw puzzle. For the interactive AR system, Unity 3D game engine was used on a Vuforia platform. Apples’ iPads were chosen as the device to perform the task due to ease of use, good camera quality and good display for AR applications. The results show that the two users can collaborate by helping each other to get the job done in AR environment.
