Ultrasonic attenuation in latex solutions
Abstract
We propose the use of ultrasonic pulses to investigate the relationship between the ultrasonic attenuation and latex solution at various frequencies. In this work, two indistinguishable ultrasonic transducers are used as a transmitter and a receiver. They are attached to both ends of a cylindrical Chamber where the latex solution is introduced. The transmitted transducer is driven by a variable resonant circuit. Pulses are produced at the rate identical to the resonant frequency of the emitted transducer allowing intense sound field to propagate. Oscilloscope is connected to the other transducer for acquisition of ultrasonic signals at 40 kHz.
