Tida Butruk, Supaporn Chairungsee, Thana Charuphanthuset, Surangkanang Charoenrak

Abstract

This paper presents a web service for efficiently detecting tandem repeat sequences using the Longest Previous non-overlapping Factor (LPnF) table and the online construction of the position heap data structure. Tandem repeats are repeated DNA sequence motifs arranged contiguously, playing important roles in genetics, and tandem repeats have been linked to specific genetic disorders and diseases. The developed web service accurately identifies tandem repeats in genomic sequences, providing fast results for shorter and simpler sequences. The system's accuracy was validated against manual annotations, demonstrating high correctness. The user-friendly interface allows easy input and result visualization. Future improvements can focus on scalability and advanced algorithms. Overall, this web service enhances tandem repeat detection in genetic analysis.
